The Corunna Fourth of July Celebration is an annual fun-filled community/family celebration in appreciation and remembrance of our heritage and patriotism. It is held at Hugh McCurdy Park located on Corunna Avenue (M-71) in the City of Corunna. The majority of the activities and events are free to the public thanks to our sponsors and fund raising activities by the 4th of July Commission.
We are a Charter Member of the Michigan Festivals & Events Association

Tuesday July 4th, 2023
For the safety of all attending and due to insurance liability, no sparklers or personal fireworks are allowed on city property including McCurdy Park or Mitchell fields. Police and city officials will be on patrol and will confiscate any dangerous materials.

Activities
Belt Sander Drag Race
The belt sander drag races begin at 1:00 pm sharp in the Larry Frank Ball Field Grandstand.
Registration is from 12:30 - 12:50 pm, with entry photos and drawing for race lane assignments at 12:45 PM.
Prizes donated by Industrial Supply
Firecracker5k Race/Walk
The cost of the 5K events will be $25.00 for early registration, before June 25th, and $30.00 after that. Race themed T-shirts will be provided with registration, but there will be no guarantee of a T-shirt for those entries recieved after the deadline.
Check-in and late registration will be at the Stu Coutts Pavilion near the Mitchell ball fields. These events will start at 8:00 am on the 4th of July, with registration beginning at 7:00 am.
Craft Show
11:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. in the Commercial Building in McCurdy Park or on the lawn next to building.
Car Show
McCurdy Park - Corunna 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Advanced Registration $12.00
Registration Day of Show $15.00

Firecracker Parade
The parade will start with the firing of the 4th Artillery Porter’s 9th Company battalion field gun.
The theme for this year’s Fourth of July is The Grand Ole Flag, but you are welcome to decorate your entry any way you wish. Loud music is encouraged. There will be four trophies given for the “Best Decorated”, “Best Theme”, “Best Youth Group”, "Best Rookie", and a grand prize trophy “Best in Show” as judged by our parade Grand Marshalls.

A special thank you to all of the volunteers who have donated their time and effort to give the Corunna Fourth of July Commission the means to present this very special community event. Without your help, the Fourth of July Celebration would not be possible.
The Corunna Fourth of July Celebration is a non-profit organization run by volunteers. The commission meets throughout the year to plan this event.

Parking Information
Permit Parking and Handicap Parking is available. If you do not meet these circumstances please follow the parking attendants directions
Due to the many activities throughout the Park, there will be limited parking in the Park in designated areas. Main parking is available north of the river at the Mitchell Ball Fields with access to the park by way of the foot bridge.
