The Shea Music Project

Stemming from Michigan's Tri-City area, The Shea Music Project offers a little something for everyone. Entertaining the masses with a funky journey of classic rock, motown soul, and 90's fun, the group formed in late 2006. Whether you catch them in a lighter setting as a trio or rockin' a little harder with a full rhythm section The Shea Music Project is sure to please.

The Shea Music Project is fronted by vocal powerhouse Shea Conklin. After studying music in New York, Shea moved to the tri-city area in 1993 with a mission to supply music lovers with a hearty combination of classic rock, soul, blues and pop. Since then she has sung with groups such as: The Crucible, Frantic, Tyshea, Dave Kellan and Friends, and has contributed background vocals to many local musicians.

Loren Kranz is the multi-talented keyboard player and organist for the group. His unique vocal stylings also add entertaining color to the group. A music major at Wayne State University, Loren plays many instruments including: organ, piano, keys, guitar, banjo, and drums. He currently is sharing his talents not only with the Shea Music Project but also The Matt Besey Band, Blue Soul Revue, and has been known to make appearances with The Holy Gun and blues great Larry McCray just to name a few. Loren first came into the Michigan music scene with his first band Barbarossa in the early 2000's.

Earl The Squirrel is the group's rhythm man. Guaranteed to make you want to tap your toes or maybe just get up and dance! His selection of instruments offers more than just your typical drummer. Earl plays congas, djembe, drum kit, and many other percussion instruments from all over the world. The Squirrel has played with many groups in Michigan including: Dave Kellan, Micah & the Squirrel, Empty Pockets, Rev. Right Time, Blue Soul Revue, and many, many more.

No matter what your music preference is The Shea Music Project is always a fun and entertaining journey through all of your favorite tunes...

Judy Harrison & Hi Impact

Judy Harrison and High Impact is Northern Michigan's favorite high energy country music band. Many of High Impacts songs are getting airplay locally and overseas in New Zealand, Belgium, Australia and more. Based in Traverse City, MI., the band spends a lot of time traveling throughout the state bringing their high energy shows to fairs, festivals, corporate events and more. They have opened for such names as Alan Jackson, Tracy Lawrence, Juice Newton, and Sammy Kershaw to name a few. What makes High Impact different from most county bands is they have a fully choreographed show that is great for all ages. People can feel free to dance or have just as much fun watching the action on stage. It's far more than just a listening experience!

High Impact is proud to have ultra-talented musicians who bring with them countless years of professional experience. Band members include Clark Harner on drums, Marshall Cronican-Walker on bass guitar, Susan Nunn on keyboards and Don Church on lead guitar. The back-up singer/dancers include Sherry McCarty, Erica Stegenga, and Jennifer Allen. Energetic, fun and fresh are just a few of the words used to describe Judy Harrison and High Impact.

Mr. Moody

Mr. Moody is the featured musical performers this year and will play right up to the big Fireworks show.

PENNY SHANAHAN - Vocals, Sax
Penny is the fireball of the band. Her spontaneous style of performing is forever unpredictable and full of energy. She colors her performance with a bit of sax and keyboard. We never know what to expect from Penny on stage. We just try to keep up.

DAN SHANAHAN - Guitar
Dan is the organizer of the band. He handles much of the booking and promoting. While doing all of this, Dan also finds time to play guitar. His cool on-stage style is a mixture of many influences, enhanced with his spontaneous Eddie Van Halen Wanna-be-isms.

GEORGE REAGER - Drums
George is the little bro of Penny. He keeps us young and hip with new ideas. George's musical style combines the sound of groovy 90's tunes with a flare of cool jazz. We never know what to expect from George both on and off stage. (Must run in the family…) He always keeps us on our toes.

MARTY HUIZAR - Bass
Coming to us by way of a fill-in gig, our "permanent part-time bassist" is the newest addition to the Mr. Moody family. A self taught bassist with over 25 years of live playing experience, you've probably seen him in such local bands as Rendezvous, Milagro, Graffiti Tree, Bella Red, and most recently Gods Made Love. His approach to music is simple, "lay down the low end and give them something they can dance to.
